Twins, separated at birth?

I think so.

We all know Jack Bauer via 24:
Meet Bryan Mills as seen in Taken:
We saw Taken last night and we came to the conculusion it was very 24ish. Oh, if these "brothers" (as I like to call them) ever got together, the torture stories they could tell. It reminded me alot of season one. You know: daughter being abducted, killing anyone who gets in his way, and a great shot. All in all, good film I'll give it a 7 out of 10. After seeing the movie we debated for about 20 minutes as to which character is better, naturally Jack Bauer one, although Bryan made for tough competition (Jack's kill count is a little low this season).

Let's Rodeo San Antonio!

Michael suprised me with tickets to the Rodeo on Friday night. There are a few things I found different/interesting or that I found laking/liked about the San Antonio's rodeo:

1. It's indorrs. I mean, how can you go to a rodeo w/o having to walk through horse crap?

2. Because the horse crap hasn't been in the arena for decades it doesn't reak.

2. They don't serve Strawberry's and Cream :(

3. No wild cow milk

4. It's nightly for about 3 weeks!

5. The carnival has a TILT-A-WHIRL!!!

6. ALL carnival rides, all day, on Friday are $1 !!!

7. After the rodeo they bring in a 'rotating' stage and have concerts . . . The performance of the evening was the Goo-Goo Dolls.

8. It's filmed and on the jumbo-tron and you get to see killer instant replays of the cowboys and bull-fighters getting worked over!!

We had a great pre-Valentine's date night! Michael may be convinced we should celebrate on the 13th EVERY year, we didn't even have to wait to be seated at dinner!

As for 'actual' Valentine's day we were chaperones to the youth multi-stake dance. We even acted as a taxi taking all the youth in our ward to and from the dance. Michael (Bro Allsop. . . I have a hard time calling him that in front of the kids) even gave the boys private dance lessons . . then he and another one of our friends went in the middle of a dance circle to show off their 'moves' too bad I'm too short (even with 3 inch heels) to see over the heads of 14 year olds- and I didn't get to see the action myself. . . . maybe we'll volunteer for next months dance for a re-play :) It actually was kinda fun and I got a dance or two out of michael myself.

I've come to a conclusion that I, at times, am more immature than the youth I "lead". Do I have to grow up???

Go Spurs Go

Our friends Adam and Valerie called us this week because they had some tickets to the spurs game and wanted to know if we would like to join them. My response was: you really just need to tell us what time to be ready cuz we're there. No need to ask. I was excited enough that they were acctually lower bowl tickets and even more excited that we were on the 18th row! (Adams parents were on the third!!!)
Don't worry I have not lost my allegience to the Jazz, but in the mean time I'll "half-cheer" for the spurs. :) It really was a good game and we had a great time!

Oh, did I mention Spurs fans are CRAZY!! This lady a couple rows in front of us was HILARIOUS! And the more beers she drank, the crazier she got. classic.

Thanks again Val & Adam, we had a blast!!

Home Sweet Home!!

We're HOME!!

We had a wonderful time, aside from the freezing temperatures. I think I was 'used' to being freezing and put my coat on as I headed out the door today. The beating sun felt wonderful and I was quickly reminded about how much I'm loving living in south Texas! My vote is Christmas in SA next year! any takers???

Our week spent with Michael's family went by all too quickly! We had a great Christmas and we feel very grateful for everyone's generosity! We loved just hanging out with the family, fighting over the rules to games and 'rocking' out. It was great to just spend time with family we don't get to see very often.

Currently, myself and the baby were the only ones to not throw-up this past week. For that, i am very fortunate!

Making the treck through the six states was quite an ordeal! the drive there was definately easier than coming back. The last two hours I thought I was going to have to shoot myself to end the pain. We did break it up a little bit by stopping by the St. Paul temple, Liberty Jail, a drive-by in Independence, and we were even able to see Scott and Paige who just happened to be in Dallas for the same few hours as us. . . so naturally we had to do a little catching up and get a few games in.

We haven't gotten our pictures developed yet. yes, developed. we forgot our camera and baught a single-use for the week. We'll see how long it takes me to get that done, and maybe i'll share :)

now, on to un-packing and putting the house back together before JR and Aubree get here :) never a dull moment.

an update

I'M FREEZING!!!

I realized today I drastly under-estimated the number of socks I packed since I am currently wearing three pair.

We made it here safe and sound. We hit a little bit of fog and a few patches of 'icey' roads but other than that, the drive was rather smooth. "thanks" to Michael, we missed an accident in Oklahoma City. For those who don't know and are interested we did beat the Allsops traveling from UT. From the time our paths met they were ahead of us . . . due to some stealth work on our part we passed them about 20 miles from Michaels parents house and beat them by about 2 minutes. Saving us the $100 that Michael bet his brothers. (We make a game out of EVERYTHING) When your windshield wiper fluid freezes that is just TOO COLD. From Iowa on we resorted to not using the wipers and every 40 miles or so I had to get out and splash fluid on the car and subsequently, my clothes. Apparently I've got a bad aim.

Besides the snow and below zero temperatures we are having a great time spending with family. People often wonder how this Utah girl wouldn't miss the snow- maybe i've always been a texan at heart. (that texas pride comes easy) Too bad we forgot our camera to document it.

Wishing yall a very Merry Christmas!!
