Baby Update

Met with the Dr today- to my dismay my cervix is still not "cooperating". Baby hasn't dropped yet which makes us think the baby may be fairly large. We scheduled a sonogram for next week to check things out. Depending on legume's size we'll schedule a c-section. Not to worry, the Dr said even if I go into labor this week the baby may very well find it's way out - we'll just do the sono to try to get a better idea. Good news is he won't let me go more than a week over. yay.

I'm 'done' of sorts, but feel much better since I am no longer up all night coughing and can breathe again. On another note- I'm a little excited for the office this week. Although after watching the previews Michael thinks it would be a really good idea to pull out a tape measure. So funny!!

spoiled? probably.

Last night a few of my AMAZING friends threw me a baby shower! It was so much fun!! We played fun games, had great food and of course lovely chats! I feel completely spoiled and overwhelmed by everyone's generosity.

Here's the loot {some from the shower(s) in UT as well}This is the stroller my siblings and parents got for us!! I am SO excited for it!!! (pay no attention to the crappiness of the photo the over-castness that is today, the reflectors and non photography skills i have are the cause) Some of the Creative Sewing gals-
One of the girls that helped throw the shower (Katie) and me showing off my kung-foo skills. Why I didn't make others pose with me I'll never know. Just remember I'm pregnant and only have half (maybe less) of my brain cells to work with here.

It was SO great to see friends from our old ward - we miss them!!!!
I feel so blessed to have such great friends thanks y'all!!!

*ps Jen(or anyone else who used their camera) will you send me the pics you took?
*pps sisters/mom- if anyone has pictures from the shower in UT will you send those my way as well?

Getting Ready

I finished the bumper pads this week and found a STEAL of a deal on a mobile (I was going to make one because I refused to pay upwards of $40 - then I found this gem. Thank you Marshalls). The paisley center fabric is my favorite, but by the time I bought it there was only a half yard left. (and i had to fight an old lady for it) boo. so I'm using it in large pieces and sparingly. Does it need something else? I've debated putting an applique of some sorts in the center- any opinions?

Here's a little larger pic of the fabrics in the window valance. {The same pattern as bumper/skirt} I was a little bummed you can't see the box pleats all that well, but what are you gonna do? I am now a huge fan of fabric covered buttons.
and, just in case:
I limited myself to buying one "boy" and one "girl" outfit. Which proved to be very difficult. The girl's because there are SO many adorable choices, the boys because of the lack thereof.
We now have our carseat and diapers- so legume, whenever you're ready. . . . . . . . we all know I am.

you should probably vote

So, we added a little poll on the blog for my amusment. I'm a little curious as to what yall think the gender of legume/junior/baby allsop will be. I toyed with the idea of giving some sort of 'prize' for the winner and then realized there would be more than one winner {that is assuming Michael and I aren't the only ones to vote} and I just don't have the energy or creativity for that.

We took a child-birth class the other day and I was a little surprised that out of 14 couples we were the ONLY ones to not know "what" we are having. {i do think it's funny to see peoples faces when my answer is 'a baby'}

We think it's a girl. . . .although 'odds' are its a boy. Don't let our guesses swade your decision. vote away.

PS - feel free to 'vote' in the comments as well, so we'll have proof who is right :)

The gift that keeps giving

concert tickets.

We went to the Brad Paisley concert last night where we "pretended" it was Saturday :)
He sure knows how to put on a good show. This was the third time I'd seen him in concert {weezer is currently the only band i've seen more} and he never disapoints. I especially liked the little stories/jokes he told, it was a bit more of an 'acoustic' show of sorts (in that his band didn't play EVERY song with him) just him and his guitar on a good number of songs, and he made-up different intros to a few of his songs too. Plus I just think he's funny. Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore opened the show. I thought it was particularly awesome that Justin signed and gave away his guitar.

Hopefully the loudness of the at&t center didn't rupter junior's developing ear drums. Thank you Santa!!! We had an EXCELLENT time.

back in SA

Between a wedding, Christmas and juggling time with BOTH of our families since our wedding, to say we had an eventful vacation is an understatement. I don't know how we managed to cram so much into 12 days, but we did it and I even lived to tell about it. {Michael did too, but he's not pregnant, so it's not as miraculous an accomplishment} Its good to be home, although I do wish 'home' wasn't so far away.

This is us at the Allsop Christmas Eve party. My new year's resolution is to try to NOT look Asian when I smile. Wish me luck. Michael's favorite Chrismas gift was the Snuggie, and Snuggie for dogs. No, we currently don't own a dog but are thinking it may fit the baby. . . . . .

My favorite gift was Madagascar 2 (as prefaced by my previous post) and tickets to BRAD PAISLEY!!!! yea!! i wonder who i should take? {apparently Santa hasn't learned the 'only give ONE ticket' trick . . . . ha ha}

my theme song

"Had a nice Thanksgiving did we?"

That's what my Dr said after seeing this months weight gain. So, I like pie ok?? LAY-OFF!!! and excuse me for finally getting to a point where I can be friends with food again. Therefore, I have dubbed "I like em big and chunky" as my new theme song.

btw I DID have a nice thanksgiving.
