I don't care

I don't care if people spell her name wrong {the "boy" way}
and
I don't care if people think she's a boy because she's in blue.

I love her.

and I love her in blue.

from here on out I *might* only buy blue dresses. We'll see.

on a side note it's a shame most of my favorite pictures are from my phone and therefore not the greatest quality {as if our camera were really that much better}.

Princess Party

Last week my sister and neice came to visit for a few days. It was pretty much an all-girl princess party, and when Michael got home from work he was our chauffer {because princesses don't drive themselves around. . . . . . duh!} And boy did we have FUN!!

The "Royalty"

Rylee's first time in a pool- she did GREAT! I was a pleasantly surprised.

We, of course, had to fit a SeaWorld trip into our schedule. Ella loved the Shamu roller coaster.

and giving Rylee a "baff"We also went to the Japanese Tea Gardens, which I've been wanting to check out for a while now. It was very pretty. Ella enjoyed going on a 'hike' and of course, being the leader.

We got a little bit of crafting in, lots of talking and 'loves'

It was so fun to see Ella with Rylee. She loved holding her 'all by herself' as long as she wasn't crying - covering up her mouth helped :) if she did cry, Ella was quick to tell me Rylee wanted her "Pinky"

Other highlights from the visit was Ella learning to use a camera, and purposely taking pictures of suit cases, shoes, knee's, and "even the furniture" {When she wanted to take pictures of faces, they were in the frame} She wanted to strap Rylee in her swing so she could "push her really high" we're not quite ready for underdogs just yet. And books books books.

Just For You

Just For You by Mercer Mayer was my FAVORITE book as a child. You could say Little Critter and I were BFF's {besides my two imaginary friend twin sisters}Not only did I have the book, but I had the video. {still shots of the pages- nothing to fabulous aside from giving my Mother's voice a rest} I'm sure I watched it multiple times a day and when it came to the end I would pause the video and run, as Critter did, to MY Mom to give her a hug "just for her". Because I'm sure I wore my mom's copy of the book out, she gave me my own *brand new* copy when I moved out of the house {or at least shortly thereafter}. I could hardly wait to read it to my children. Almost a decade later here we are, reunited again.


A few months ago Michael and I were at a bookstore and I was trying to get him to understand my obsession. He didn't. Apparently he didn't have a favorite book growing up, but after MUCH coaxing he finally uttered the words "Where the Sidewalk Ends."


Anyway, I've enjoyed reading all kinds of books to Rylee. She tires of it before I do, but I'm certain, with time, those roles will change. At any rate, what is YOUR {or your child's} favorite children's book?

My first "official" Mother's day!
For the first time in my adult life I didn't feel entirely awkward and stupid standing up in the chapel waiting for the chocolate I was going to give to Michael anyway.

Thank you Rylee for making me a Mother.

And Thank you to my own Mother for being completely awesome. We sure love and miss you.

This here bird thinks he owns the place. It lives on our roof, fence, yard whatever. I've seen many a territorial fight (with other birds, luckily not me) and it has a really obnoxious skwak.Little does this bird know, we live outside city limits and therefore I could shoot you. (ok, I don't know if that is entirely true. I'm all talk)
