What a Week!!

We had an absolute BLAST with Michaels family this past week. It was a really nice vacation, packed FULL of activities: Tues night we drove down to south padre island after work. Wed we went into Mexico and did a little finagaling at the shops and walked around. My favorite was Ryan asking if he could 'try out' the hammocks to see if they really would fit two people. It was hilarious watching the two men try to lift him off the ground while in the hammock. priceless.

Thursday we got up early and did some deep sea fishing. Or as I like to call it: deep sea puking. Yea, I got what some people refer to as "sea-sick" and let me tell you it is NOT FUN, and looking at the horizon really doesn't help all that much. Ryan was sick as well and Michael of course had to throw up so he wouldn't be left out. When I wasn't closing my eyes or leaning over the edge of the boat we did catch some fish. Mostly red-snappers which we still have a ton! It was cool because every boat was allowed one shark. They caught a 6 foot sandbar. It was really cool to watch what goes on in the catch.

Friday I told Michael I wanted to go golfing with him for his birthday. Since we were staying at the condos on the golf course we couldn't resist. It took us about five and a half hours but we had a good time. I got a couple good shots in, for it being my first time golfing the entire 18 holes.

Saturday we had a delicious birthday breakfast for Michael packed up and came home. We of course had to take the family down-town. The alamo/river walk was fun. Then Michael got to open his presents: -2 new games (of course) -Indiana Jones Trilogy -Bret Farve the Tribute Happy 29th Michael!!!

Sunday there was a water pipe breakage at the church and they sent us all home. That's what a few of us like to call a father's day miracle. We ended up going to Guadalupe State Park for a BBQ and water play. It had been a while since Michael had spent a Father's day with his Dad. We hope he had a good time. He definately deserves it. He is a Great Father.

Monday we chilled and went to a local museum. It was fun to play around with all the interactive science displays and walk around and read more about 'texas'. Of course we played loads of games as always.

Sadly Tuesday life was 'back to normal' The Allsops are well on their way back to Wisconsin and Michael and I back to work. Thanks so much to Mom and Dad Allsop for the FABULOUS vacation. It was well needed and so much fun to hang out with them, we can't wait to do it again!

About that time.....

Well I figue I haven't written in awhile, so here we go. Last week I went fishing with a buddy from the ward. He was telling me about his sweet bass boat that he has. Well it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be but we were both able to get on together and do some serious fishing. Thats him telling me to jump on his back so we both can get going. Kind of akward to tell you the truth.

There are some really good camp sites around here as well. They all come with a special "texas fire pit" as you can see.

Well some of our neighbors in our complex got married. We really didn't know them too well but we couldn't turn down the invitation. I'll say this that they sure party pretty hard down here. This was the brides 5th trip to the kegger. You should have seen her grandma down the beer bong!

We had some car trouble the other day. So we took our car in to this small shop. It was nice to be able get our car worked on and do a little praising in the mean time! It was kind of hard to understand the minister and take him serious, when he was bald with a comb over, missing half of his teeth, had a beer belly, a stained wife beater t-shirt with nacho stains and was chewing tobacco. Everytime he yelled Amen, he spat out some chew and scratched himself! It truly was moving experience not necessarily in a good way.

We took a drive the other day and drove by Lloyd's place. It looks like Lloyd and Elyse are at it again, what a shame such a sweet couple.

Here are some really good friends of ours. Scott is in the back, he is a roadie for Deaf Leopard. Paige she is in front. She loves her bangs! She is a hair stylist and really good at it as you can see. The kid in the front is Paige's nephew, Darnell, he loves visiting Paige and Scott cause he gets his hair done oh so sweet!

People down here love Nascar. This man here is my idol! I should be so lucky to have the hair that he does so that one day I can shave my favorite Nascar number on my back!

Well that is all for now! I'll be back with more for y'all!

P.S.

So, last night we went out to dinner at this quaint little place near our house and we decided to go to redbox and get a video (one of my favorite things to do, i'm addicted to finding 'promotion codes') Mike said I could get whatever movie I wanted. As I close the car door i'm thinking "chick-flick time"!! (Something I don't do too terribly often). Any way, I chose the video "PS I Love You" I'd heard it was good but didn't really know what it was about. Well, I cried, and by crying I mean BAWLED through the ENTIRE two hours. I mean, I've cried in movies before, but usually it's just watery eyes or a single tear or maybe one scene. tops. But not this time. I think I put myself in their situations too much. All in all, it really was a good film, but I don't recommend watching without a full box of tissues. Now, I kind of want to read the book :) Mike doesn't understand why I would put myself through the torture. He just kept looking at me saying 'are you ok?' Then we'd laugh together! What's my problem?

Congratulaitons Ryan and Becky!!

So, Michaels bff from HS lives in Arizona with his wife and they just had a baby boy. Peyton. So cute. Anyway, here is a pic of the blanket we (and by we I mean I) made for the little guy. Nothing too fancy but it'll do. Michael was impressed by how quickly it was put together. And if Ryan and Becky check our blog, sorry to ruin the surprise, you'll get it in the mail in three-five business days.

My 'vanna' . . . to bad whatever was on tv was more important than possibly posing for a picture.

A.I.

This post is for all you Utahns out there. I want to know if any of you went to Murray/The Gateway last week in support of "our" American Idol? I must say it was kindof fun to watch them talk about places I'd been- the gateway, energy solutions arena, murray HS. Who knows, maybe David's family lives next to Grandma and Grandpa Allsop, after all Ken Jenings did. (The guy who won like booko bucks on jeopordy.) Maybe there's something in the water.

I still can't decide which David should win. . . . I like them both. And I'll probably end up purchasing each of thier first albums. surprise surprise.
