Only in Texas!

Where else in the world can you find a public restroom by a picture of a man/woman/baby with a cowboy hat on? HILARIOUS. Infact, funny enough that it deserved it's own post. Need I say more?

Pa-thetic

So, we just got back from the jazz/spurs game and I have one word for you. pathetic. We were lucky enough to get tickets last week and we were really excited about it, up until 2 minutes in. It was a rough night if you didn't see the game, the jazz were shooting a whapping 38% ouch. I guess what goes around comes around. We still have fun though. Dinner was included with our tickets and our beautiful faces were shown on the big screen! I'll tell you this, I'd rather watch a game at the AT&T center above the energy solutions any day. We were WAY up there and could still see rather well. Hopefully the jazz will do better in the play-offs. GO JAZZ GO!!

My two cents again.....

Well like I said I thought I would let you all know what is going on lately with us. It has been raining a lot lately down here. One thing about when it rains is that certain areas flood. We have some neighbors who were not so fortunate. Their house flooded and they were able to get out which is important. As you can see they have their 72 hour kit with them, you know all the essentials to survive on. (Beer, liquor, and soda)

Well my job is going good. You know everyone reaches a point in their lives when they have to make a switch from renting to buying a house. We have found a really nice home and waiting to hear how much they want for it. If the price is right we may go for it.

It's in a good neighborhood. We meet with some of the neighbors and there is a real sweet lady. Melissa is really nice she is concern about some construction that is going on near by and the effects of it might have on her newborn. She finds that smoking is quite helpful though.

She lives with her brother, Billy Bob, he is a good guy. But the thing I love is his sweet ride! You should see him lean into as he takes curves. I'm going to help him to extend his rear view mirrors out the side, I think we are going to really pimp it up!
I've started a new hobby lately. I've tried to take up riding a bike. You know me, once I try something I have to go all the way. Well I tried to do some tricks.....you can see that it didn't end up so hot. I'm looking at takeing up cribbage because I am now in a bodycast and can only move my fingers.

Well after my accident I decided to keep up with riding a bike but instead at a gym. The gym we signed up is so great they even offer an escalator up to the front door. You know for those people that get tired from going up stairs.
Texas really is a great place. You know what they say in Texas there are Steers and Beers, or as my Uncle Chuck likes to say "Steers and Queers." Well here is a steer, I don't know where the others are though.
One of the nice things about Texas is that there are lot of good places to go out to eat. Well we went to this one restaurant that claims they have the best belly dancers around. So we went in and sure enough as you can see Berta has the belly but needs a little work on the dancing portion.

Anyway's I'll keep you all up to date on what Texas is like for us down here in San Antonio. Until next time take care!

SA vs SLC

So, did you catch the jazz/spurs game the other night. . . fantastic. For all that are wondering we did infact root for the jazz. We don't loose our loyalty that quickly. I was reserved in who I told though, people down here are pretty crazy about their 'teams' and I didn't want to get shot. I'll tell you one thing though, if you don't like watching Ginobli on the court you should see his commercials. TERRIBLE. Seriously, because of him I will never buy a car from GUNN.

Playing Mom and Dad

Well, we were pretend parents yet again this past week. We watched Jaden and Megan for a few days while Ben and Nat were out of town. It was fun and as-always very interesting. Never a dull moment with a Wright in town. Megan is ALL GIRL oh my goodness. From hauling around a pink purse, to feeling the need to nurture stray animals (be it a cat or a catipillar) to mood swings and not being able to make and keep a decision on what to eat, wear, or do. But when on vacation with aunt trish you can pretty much do, watch and be awake however long you want-the later the better (mostly because they/I could sleep longer-and if you don't know I'm not a morning person, you don't know me.). I did improve my uno and playground skills as well as my ability to carry a scooter across the complex and was reminded of how terrible I am at miniature golf.

If you haven't been miniature golfing with a 3 or 6 year old, I HIGHLY recommend it. Hilarious. They just chase the ball and have the ability to use feet as "backboards" and hit numerous 'hole-in-ones' simply because the ball doesn't stop until its in the hole. I will tell you this- the course was pretty cool.

Michael isn't the only one to sport a fanny pack. The trend is taking over.

Any question as to who's photo-genic daughter this is? Who else but picture-maniac, scrap-a-holic Natalie? She teaches her children to take pictures rather well.

Aaahhh-CHOO

How we kept them quiet.

See, we're good baby-sitters. promise. This is the other thing everyone should see in their lifetime: High School Musical. Not the movie it's self persay, but a 3 or 6 year old watching H.S.M. (yea, that's right, i abbreviated it) back to back with HSM2- seriously adds up to four hours of hilariousness. Although the songs/plot are uber cheesy they are indeed catchy and memorable (I can't get them out of my head) no wonder Jaden and Megan both know the songs and dance along. Too bad Jaden is camera shy, I wasn't able to get a good video. So you'll have to figure out you own way to see it.

I was just happy the sun came out long enough to go to the pool. We really had a good time. Jaden is such a sweetie and an excellent older brother. He watches out for Megan like you wouldn't believe. They both say and do the funniest things. Its been really nice to have some family closer than a three days drive. It's helps keep my mind sane and my eyes dry. . . . We'll try not to get too attached :)

My two cents....

I figured Trish has said a lot about our recent move to Texas. I figure I might as well throw my two cents out about San Antonio. It truly is a lovely place. We moved into a great neighborhood. They have weekly get togethers as you can see. I'm in the middle with the shotgun.

We really lucked out with our apartment complex. They only had one spot available and we snagged it up right up. As you can see they spare no expense on all the accomodations specially with the jacuzzi.
In fact this week we took the Riverwalk Boat tour. We decided to upgrade a little bit and get the Ultra Premium Ride. It was well worth the money.

We do have some really neat neighbors though. Here we have Lou Ann and Selma. Great ladies! There are very talented as well, Lou Ann can hold her drink without usings any hands. And don't even get me started on how she drinks with no hands!

Whenever you start a new job you never get the big bucks to startout with. So I have picked up a second job on the side. This money is going straight to a Lynard Skynard Concert!

We have been able to have some fun lately though. Last we a couple of our friends went sking and took us along. It took awhile for me to remember how to ski but you know once your up your up!

San Antonio really isn't too bad for the cost of living though. Everythings not really expensive but gas. You know the way the rate gas is going sometimes you feel like you are just taking it up the, well you know what I mean.....

But overall we really like it here. For those of you looking to come out here and visit us we have some great guest bedrooms. We look forward for you to coming out and visiting us!!

Working Girl

So, I haven't posted in a while, life has been busy mostly because I am once again, a working girl. I've been looking on and off for a while now and I recently got a job at a local fabric store. The Creative Sewing Center to be precise. It's pretty close to our apartment (about two blocks) and the pay isn't terrible. I was warned but I didn't quite believe them, but the first day on the job was the worst day of my life. My job for 8 hours was to "walk around and look at what we have" that's right for eight hours. I was so bored I wanted to scream, I ended up crying. I will hopefully get my 'scissors' tomorrow. It's kindof a crowning cerimony of sorts :) So, then I will at least be able to cut fabric instead of just look at it :). The plan is to eventually sell the sewing machines. Or possibly move to the internet sales/shipping side because of my previous experience. (which, for the record, I miss terribly) I'm hoping for the warehouse/internet sales, then I wouldn't have to work weekends. Aside from the first day, it has been fun so far and my creative mind is about to explode!! There are so many fun things to make I wish I had the time now to make them- At least now I'll get a discount. It's been nice to be busy and have an excuse for not doing the laundry.

Other than that, life is good. We're trying to keep up with our reality tv obsessions and our church callings (I am YW secretary Michael Teacher's advisor) and life in general. There are lots of fun things to see and do around here and every person we talk to tells us of something else. The latest is a state parks pass. You pay a fee and you get unlimited access to all the state parks in texas for a year (there are quite a few) and 1/2 price camp sites. There are horse races about 20 minutes away and I am DYING to go to a horse race. The thing is, events are so cheap around here if you are over 21 because they make their money off all the drinkers. For instance the internet posted entry to the horse race at $2. Works for me!! So, I think I'm rambling now. . . sorry.

We hope you all have/had a lovely Easter holiday.
