Rockport TX

This past weekend we decided to have one last hoorah before school started and our/Michael's life was changed dramatically. We went to Rockport Texas - a city on the gulf/bay - and it was wonderful. We invited some friends to join us and stayed in a condo owned by a co-worker of Michaels- seriously, perfection.

We went out one night to a resaurant called The Boiling Pot. They boil your food in a big pot, and just dump it on the table lined with butcher paper to have at it. A bit to much cajun spice for my liking and the fact that the shrimp weren't de-headed before served was rather strange but it was definately interesting. Michael liked it most of all.

the plastic bibs were manditory
diggin into the crab
walking around "down-town" Michael posed w a picture of an ancestor
Daddy teaching Rylee how to drive.

They have a little aquarium we went to. For being free it wasn't to shabby. Our favorites there were the sea-horses, seeing 'behind the sences' workings of a salt water tank, and viewing the types of fish we caught when we went deep sea fishing a few years ago with Michael's family.
As we were walking through a few beach shops, as a joke Michael put this hat on my head. Turns out I loved it. . . . . . . its big enough to shade both myself and Rylee - who's the sucker now???
(don't answer that)

The place we stayed had a poll/smaller pool titled hot tub right on the bay. It was really pretty. They had a big fishing pier which was cool, we didn't have the right gear or we would have done some fishing ourselves.

There were a TON of cotton fields between SA and Rockport, it was pretty cool. So on the way back we stopped for a little photo-op :) Rylee was sleeping which is why the photo is sans her.
It was a perfect little pre-vacation vacation get away.

Utah cont.

You know there's alot of pictures when I go the "slide-show" route. I just couldn't narrow it down. This basically sums up my trip to UT - {you can insert you own images of me doing some serious shopping}. I would have had a lot MORE fun had I not been sick the entire week. ugh. The only thing I really didn't participate much in was the giant blow-up water slide. boo!

I HAD captions but apparently you have to pay a fee for them to be viewed. lame. just know walking in on my Dad rocking Rylee almost made me cry. She was held almost the entire week, and is loved by SO MANY people. We had a great time. Miss you ALL!!!

Great's

One of the most anticipated part of my trip to Utah was having 4 generation pictures taken. Rylee, Me, My Mom, and My Mom's Mom (Grandma Huffaker). Rylee and I have such great examples of hardworking, compassionate, beautiful, fun (etc etc) women in our lives. I can only hope she, and I, turn out like them! These pictures are truly cherished.

Great-Grandma Wright

Great Grandma and Grandpa Allsop

As one might imagine they were all excited to meet Miss Rylee, and we rather enjoyed it as well.

home sweet home

After being away visiting family for a week, its good to be home. It didn't take long for Rylee to get re-aquainted with the furniture, nor to remember its ok to NOT wake up at 4/5 am.

I already miss the 'dry' air, the shopping, the mountains, and most of all my AMAZING family. Sorry to all you readers that aren't related - you got shafted. :) Untill next time I'm back to giving 'baby Rylee' kisses for you, letting her hang on to MY fingers and spit in her Daddy's face. The count-down to summer 2012 is ON!!!!

help.

The problem with rolling and only having the ability to scoot backwards (which btw is much easier to accomplish in footed pj's on wood floor) is you can't quite see where you're going, and you can get yourself in quite the perdicament. and the harder you try to free yourself, the further stuck you get.
sometimes, life is just plain HARD.
