Mourning

It has been a couple of sad, sad days at the texas allsop residence. We have had much to cry about the last 48 hours. 1st, it has rained for 12 of them- 2nd it has been FREEZING!!! (ok, not like 32 degrees freezing but I did have to turn the heater on) 3rd, my days with ellen and oprah are coming to a close in that I am officially looking for a job. And last but certainly not least I have been consouling my dear husband since the announcement of his beloved Brett Favre's retirement from football and the Green Bay Packers. You can FEEL the gluminess of this household. We go through tissue after tissue. He doesn't eat. He doesn't sleep. He only responds to ESPN and Sports Center and their tributes. I have one question: How do you mend a brocken heart? Some one tell me HOW?!?!

Our Fun-Filled Weekend

Ben, Natalie, Jaden, and Megan came to see us this weekend. We had a blast with them- here is a recap:

Friday, the San Antonio Zoo (megan kept asking if we were in "Sanio Tonio") We had alot of fun checking out all the animals. They were all really active which made it even more enjoyable. The Hippo's were an all around favorite.

This was so precious!

As we checked out the Rhino Jaden started laughing and said "Look, the rhino sat in mustard!!"

Roar!!!!

Saturday was opening day to Sea World. As we were getting ready to go, Ben asked Jaden if he wanted to go to Sea World. Jaden's reply was "NO, I don't want to get sea sick!" We took him anyway. We went to shows, fed the dolphins, rode rollercoasters and got some of that wonderful sunshine (all little too much for some of us). We spent the rest of the weekend playing games and laughing- We miss them already and can hardly wait for them to come again!!

Allergic

So, about a week and a half ago, I noticed these little red, itchy spots on my stomach, chest, and back. As the days went by and they got worse I told Michael there is only one LOGICAL explination. I'm allergic to Texas.

He didn't believe me and thought I should get a second opinon since they weren't going away. One doctors apointment (where I saw three Dr.'s who none of which really knew what was going on with my skin) and two steroid shots, and a sleepless night, later here I am. So the verdic was, if the steroid didn't help I had some gross skin disease they refered to as "TR" which I would have to deal with for six weeks, and if they did work I was to no longer use Tide with Fabreze, and rewash all my clothes. Well the bumps are gone-but at this point I'm thinking I would rather deal with an itchy rash than re-wash all my clothes. Laundry is the Devil and so is tide with fabreze. So, the moral of the story is don't use things you are alleric to.

Pick A Pocket!

My sister just got called to be the primary entertainer, I mean, chorister in her ward and asked me to make her an apron with alot of pockets to put pieces of paper for the kids to pick to find which song to sing. I, of course, jumped on the idea for many reasons, mainly I was really bored, I love to sew, I already had an extra apron on hand, and I love her! The whole project cost $ 0 dolla- which I am very proud of the mere fact that I FOUND all the fabric I had to make the project. Anyway, I had fun making it, I know it's nothing too fantastic, but it will work and hopefully the kids will have fun. So, Good Luck Lisa! P.S. the flower is my personal favorite.

Our First Visitors

My Mom and Dad came to visit for a fun filled 36 hours. We had a blast, we went to the Alamo, the River Walk, we did a temple session, and of course played ALOT of games. It was a short visit but we still had fun- they are officially off to the next spot on their tour of the western united states. I think they enjoyed a few hours away from the snow. The temperature peaked at a lovely 83 degrees, maybe they'll come back sooner than they thought :)

Home Sweet Home

We are all moved in- Now we just have to get organized! It's harder than one might think. It gets REAL boring, REAL fast. Thats kindof my life now though. . . . boring. The highlight of my days now is getting the mail. I pass by the pool and keep wordering if it is warm enough to swim in it yet. We're getting there but not quite. Maybe one of these days I'll get a job. . . . . maybe. Wishing all a happy heart day!!
