Let's Rodeo!

While we took the kids to the stock show and they saw a rodeo event (barrel racing this year), we were able to leave the kids with a sitter and go back another evening inside the arena to see the rodeo/concert.

As expected we had a really great time.
Love myself a date night. We seem to find fun wherever we go.
Gotta love muttin' bustin'! I, as I'm sure you're well aware, miss the wild cow milk event. I can't seem to wrap my brain around it not a PRCA event. ;)
The night we went, Darius Rucker (the lead singer for the band Hootie and the Blowfish turned Country artist) had the concert entertainment after the rodeo.  I wish we had closer seats- mostly because then the girl next to me who was singing terribly off key would  have been drowned out by the actual artist. He sang a few older songs and covers.  I must admit he fits well into the country genre. We weren't disappointed.

JBJ

So, what seems like months ago, we saw Bon Jovi. I must admit I was slightly hesitant, but after all the concerts I've "drug" Michael to, I thought I'd best go to one of his top choices. I'll also admit: it. was. awesome. Seriously one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Granted our seats were bad (quantity over quality for this concert goer) as we were seated behind the stage, but there were plenty of screens to watch from and he turned around often :) I'm not sure if it was the pluthera of sweet dance moves:
as seen here
the fact that he kissy-faced the audience to scream louder, or that after he took off his jacket he said "Is it hot in here, or is it just me?" -He's one funny entertainer, and we had a blast rocking out. I also loved that even the nose-bleeders like us didn't sit through the whole concert. He played all our favorites and he giggled when the crowd would sing an entire verse and chorus without him. When we found out we both would be in Utah only a short 5 days later we contemplated round 2, sadly, it didn't work out.

Evening with My Michaels

(photo via google)
Since Michael introduced me to Michael Buble while we were dating, it seemed only fitting to spend our anniversary date seeing him in concert.
Notice that there is NO ONE sitting behind us - yea, we wanted to go THAT bad. :)

the 'view' from our seats. Pretty far away, but we still had an excellent time!

I learned Michael Buble is actually pretty hilarious. I love when artists kick back a little and tell stories and joke with the audience. I think he did a great job as he said "breaking down barriers" and really letting us get to know him a little bit. I've never been thanked more for buying a concert ticket! He said San Antonio was the best city of his tour so far - (maybe because EVERY seat sold) and he may have just been saying that (you never know) but you know what, I believed him.

A few favorites from the evening was him talking about his 'sketchy' hotel room down town, stating that SA is like "Disneyland for adults who love mexican food" and where else in the world can you go to starbucks and see a boat float by? love it.

When he walked through the crowd and sang on the opposite end of the floor he apologized to all those who "spent ridiculous amounts of money to sit in the front" since he's singing back here now. haha.

We even got a sitter!! (thanks again!!!)

to sum up: love me some Michael.
