5 down, 2 to go

Last weekend my sister and her family came to visit . . . . making 5 out of my 7 siblings to vacation in San Antonio to see us!!! Wow, are we lucky! {as for the other two. . . . I avoid that drive too} Some days its hard being so far away from home/family - but having visitors makes it that much easier. . . . plus we didn't have to bottle a single item of food {we don't get to eat it either so there}

ANYWAY. . . .

We loved that Sara and Jason rented a mini-van so we could all ride together! Although the boys "never got to sit in my seat." We started off the vacation with Sea World I swear I couldn't get sick of watching animals do tricks. I love it!
Colby "that was fun, but not really fun" give him a few years and five inches and he'll be ALL OVER the rides.

Then of course took a tour of the Alamo and the riverwalk.

Monday we went to the Natural Bridge Caverns. We hadn't been there before and I was kindof excited. They turned out to be pretty cool. Pretty similar to Timp Caves- without the hike- which lil ol me LOVED.

There was of course football watching {the boys WISH they'd made the drive up to Dallas- the gals, not so much} and game playing which are always fun- as well as a trip to some of our favorite restaurants. We love showing people around what little we/I know of San Antonio and it was fun to have our First visitors to stay in our house!! I'm grateful those few days were the only days this past week we haven't had a downporing rain! Realizing the vacation is over is always a little difficult but we managed. . . . not without Michael getting strep throat but somehow I escaped THAT {thankfuly}
Come see us again, we miss you!!

Man I am jealous of your checklist. We are 0 down and 11 to go as far as ANY sibling coming to visit. :)

What fun activities, and you are TOTALLY sisters!

PS Heard you got a haircut....is it your short short new do?? I want to see it if it is!

Looks/ Sounds like fun. So I realize I'm not technically a sibling, but when we come up to visit do we get the grand tour? (I think the fact we lived there shouldn't factor in).

I'm glad you posted pictures because I haven't. You summed the trip up perfectly. It was such a fun trip--now you know what you definitely will & won't do when you have kids. Definitely steer toward the mini-van--it is a vacation all by itself! You can drive over glass bottles and nothing happens to the tires. I forgot about Colby's comment on Seaworld. He is such a crack up. He keeps telling everyone that the Texas Splashdown ride was thumbs down. Ha!

Nat, yes you were the first to visit us in texas. . . but to be honest, it couldn't have been that great-
1. we didn't know anything
2. ben wrecked your car
3. we got lost semi-frequently
4. sleeping arangements (we've slightly upgraded since then)
5. you were pregnant and couldn't experience the steel eel.

Melis- you are welcome ANYTIME

and Sara- I can't keep a straight face when I hear "911" on the radio and laugh everytime I think about Colby biting his own finger. oh, the memories.

One BIG difference between the caves: the temperature. Between the humidity and the heat it's rather stifling in the Texas ones. (But then again it's been years since I've been to the Timp cave, so maybe I just don't remember it right.)

You guys look great!

Please tell me you have a wall in your home of pictures taken with relatives in front of the alamo? I know we talked about it but it needs to happen.
