We had an absolute BLAST with Michaels family this past week. It was a really nice vacation, packed FULL of activities: Tues night we drove down to south padre island after work. Wed we went into Mexico and did a little finagaling at the shops and walked around. My favorite was Ryan asking if he could 'try out' the hammocks to see if they really would fit two people. It was hilarious watching the two men try to lift him off the ground while in the hammock. priceless.
Thursday we got up early and did some deep sea fishing. Or as I like to call it: deep sea puking. Yea, I got what some people refer to as "sea-sick" and let me tell you it is NOT FUN, and looking at the horizon really doesn't help all that much. Ryan was sick as well and Michael of course had to throw up so he wouldn't be left out. When I wasn't closing my eyes or leaning over the edge of the boat we did catch some fish. Mostly red-snappers which we still have a ton! It was cool because every boat was allowed one shark. They caught a 6 foot sandbar. It was really cool to watch what goes on in the catch.
Friday I told Michael I wanted to go golfing with him for his birthday. Since we were staying at the condos on the golf course we couldn't resist. It took us about five and a half hours but we had a good time. I got a couple good shots in, for it being my first time golfing the entire 18 holes.
Saturday we had a delicious birthday breakfast for Michael packed up and came home. We of course had to take the family down-town. The alamo/river walk was fun. Then Michael got to open his presents: -2 new games (of course) -Indiana Jones Trilogy -Bret Farve the Tribute Happy 29th Michael!!!
Sunday there was a water pipe breakage at the church and they sent us all home. That's what a few of us like to call a father's day miracle. We ended up going to Guadalupe State Park for a BBQ and water play. It had been a while since Michael had spent a Father's day with his Dad. We hope he had a good time. He definately deserves it. He is a Great Father.
Monday we chilled and went to a local museum. It was fun to play around with all the interactive science displays and walk around and read more about 'texas'. Of course we played loads of games as always.
Sadly Tuesday life was 'back to normal' The Allsops are well on their way back to Wisconsin and Michael and I back to work. Thanks so much to Mom and Dad Allsop for the FABULOUS vacation. It was well needed and so much fun to hang out with them, we can't wait to do it again!

I'm so glad that you all had fun with Mike's family. Deep sea fishing is fun, puking, however, is not! So, I'm buying a sewing machine and want you to teach me how to sew! PLEASE!!!
Well it sounds like you guys continue to have fun, fun, fun! Hug that new baby girl this weekend for us. Drive safely!
Family makes everything more fun! Glad they could all come down and party hard. Sorry about the sea-sickness, that stinks. And Happy late birthday Mike!
So much fun! We so wish we were there livin' it up with you!

I would take the ocean over Strawberry Days hands down! You guys are so lucky to be out having adventures! We need to get the Slades in for a road trip to Texas!
I have witnessed several father's day miracles as well. Carson's first fathers day he had a massive blow out in his diaper, thus sending us home. Brenner did his best this year, instead of poo he decided to be throw up on me, once again sending me home. Children are good for something after all.
